Tall Oil Rosin, CAS 8052-10-6

Tall oil rosin is a product of vacuum rectification of crude tall oil, obtained during the kraft pulping process. It is a brittle, glassy substance ranging in color from light yellow to dark brown. Tall oil rosin consists of a mixture of resin acids (abietic, dihydroabietic, palustric, neoabietic, isopimaric, and others). In addition to resin acids, it contains up to 6% non-soapifiable matter.

Tall oil rosin is used in various industrial sectors, for example:

  • Paints & Coatings Industry - to impart gloss and hardness to coatings;
  • Pulp & Paper Industry - for paper and cardboard sizing;
  • Rubber Goods Manufacturing - as an emulsifier in synthetic rubber production;
  • Electronics - as a flux in soldering;
  • Forest Chemical Production - e.g., in the production of rosin esters;
  • Road Marking Materials - as a binder in thermoplastic road marking compounds.
Minimum order volume: 200 kg.
Supplied: Galvanized steel drums, as well as heated railway and road tankers.
Shelf life: 12 months from the date of manufacture.
